--Jim Clonts, Author Of MIG Drivers

I was glued to my cozy chair during the entire story! I enjoyed the characters and found both the dialogue and the plot of this fantastic story a real edge of your seat kind of read from cover-to-cover! (A Highly Recommended Novel!)
--Victoria Taylor Murray, Author Of Friendly Enemies/Le Fin

Varsity Man –
There is a belief inside the counter-intelligence community that a single Soviet master spy recruited both Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen. The theory is based on Soviet defectors who claim the KGB would never take the word of a single mole. They would require multiple sources. It is believed Varsity Man remained active from 1985 through 1994. Consider the potential of an agent that recruited high value moles being active for nine years.

Vault –
My term for the war room beneath the White House.

VNIIEF -
Russian Federal Nuclear Center, All Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics developed and designed all of the Soviet Unions nuclear weapons. The primary design facilities are located at Arzamas-16 and Chelyabinsk-70.

VNS –
The Voter News Services is a creation of the major networks. It has been used to provide projections for electoral races. These projections are based on variety of elements including demographics, swing precincts, and exit polls. The 2000 presidential race demonstrated that VNS is a broken system.

VPN –
Virtual Private Network basically drills a hole through the Internet between a remote station and a server. It is designed to provide secure transactions between remote and local network nodes. (Nothing is that secure.)

VX –
This is one of the most dangerous chemical weapons created. VX is a strategic chemical weapon based on the Tabun and Sarin. The British developed VX in 1952 at Port Down. So significant was VX that Americans traded their knowledge of thermo nuclear weapons for Britain’s strategic chemical weapon. VX could not be used tactically due to the danger to local troops. The antidote, atropine, is a toxin itself but it counteracts the effect of the VX by removing it from the enzyme.

VX-2 –
Designation for VX binary weapon. Where two inert compounds are mixed during flight time to target.

VX-Beta –
Enhanced variable of VX gas capable of long-term persistence and maximum chemical kill rate. VX-Beta does not exist. It is a reasonable extrapolation of current CW technology for Point of Honor. However, people like Saddam Hussein and Dr. Taha Rashida al-Awazi do exist. It would be a mistake to lower our guard.

VZ-24 –
The Czechoslovakian VZ-24 is based on the 1898 German bolt action Mauser. It fires a 8mm round and has a five round attached box magazine. They were manufactured from 1924 – 1928.
