I was glued to my cozy chair during the entire story! I enjoyed the characters and found both the dialogue and the plot of this fantastic story a real edge of your seat kind of read from cover-to-cover! (A Highly Recommended Novel!)

Lies and Lullabies

In another step down the path called Presidential folly, thirty million barrels of oil were released from the country’s strategic oil reserve today. Secretary Bill Richardson said the release was for “practical not political considerations.” Al Gore claims there is an oil crisis, but where are the lines and where is the shortage? The strategic reserve is not a political bauble to be frivolously used. It is part of our country’s national security.

Does anyone care?

When the Clinton gang came to power in 1992, America imported 44% of her oil. Today we import 56%. The misguided policies designed to shutdown the Alaskan North Slope, and oil-drilling platforms off the Pacific Coast have threatened our energy independence. The administration sent the Federal Trade Commission after the oil companies claiming they are engineering a shortage. The shortage has been caused by environmentally extreme policies that pander to the looney left.

During the debate over the Gulf War, Al Gore sold his vote based on the amount of time he would receive in the well of the Senate. Can you imagine the shuttle negotiation between Minority Leader Dole and Majority Leader Mitchell? This country was on the verge of committing five hundred thousand troops to war, and Al Gore was more concerned about how he looked on TV.

Al Gore compares the cost of the arthritis drugs he purchases for his dog and grandmother. He concludes the pharmaceutical industry is robbing grandma blind only to find himself backtracking the next day because the numbers he used as a price comparison were wrong—shades of George McGovern’s pledge to give everybody one thousand dollars.

Does anyone care?

In Las Vegas Nevada, Al Gore declares he remembers going to sleep in the crib to catchy union tunes. Does it matter that the tune he referenced was written in 1975 and Al Gore was a mere twenty-seven years old? Maybe he still was in a crib.

Al, Hillary, and Bill might as well put a flashing VACANCY/NO VACANCY neon sign outside the Lincoln Bedroom. Somehow, I do not think the President who converted the White House into field hospital during Civil War’s dark days envisioned the current occupant’s moral bankruptcy.

Does anyone care?

Do you care about the lies? Do you care about the attempts to create thought crimes via hate crime legislation? Does it bother you that these people do not believe in the private ownership of firearms? Have you considered that their approach to governance is closer to kingship and serfs rather than stewardship and the people? Does it matter that the next president will appoint up to three members to Supreme Court?

I care.

I care about the future of the country, and I am tired of the lies and lullabies. I do not want my ears tickled or a bigger government to look after me. I want to be left alone. While George W. Bush is not perfect, he does represent a departure from wide and easy road to ruin we are currently on. It is time to act like free men. It is time to act like Americans.
